Multi-Cultural Destination Wedding in Bergen, Norway: Ashley & James

An American couple from Florida, a dual Hindu and Protestant celebration, and the breathtaking backdrop of Bergen, Norway. Clearly, capturing Ashley and James’s wedding was not just a professional milestone; it was a dream come true for me as a destination wedding videographer.

If you are currently planning your own adventure in Scandinavia, here is the story of how we brought this magical day to life.

The Magic of a Dual-Ceremony Wedding in Norway

When Ashley and James first told me about their wedding plans, I knew immediately that this was going to be an extraordinary project. Indeed, Ashley’s beautiful Indian heritage combined with James’s roots meant we were about to experience two distinct worlds blending into one: a vibrant Hindu ceremony and a traditional Protestant service.

Naturally, capturing two ceremonies in a single day is a thrilling challenge for a wedding filmmaker. However, the contrast between the rich, colorful traditions of the Hindu morning rituals and the elegant simplicity of the Protestant service created an incredible visual narrative.

Flawless Coordination Across Borders

Furthermore, planning an international event of this scale requires an extraordinary amount of logistics. In fact , none of this would have been possible without the incredible team at Prosjektbryllup .From the very first minute, they placed their absolute trust in our team and took complete charge of the wedding organization and design. Thanks to their expertise, every single detail transitioned smoothly between the two ceremonies.

Scouting Bergen: From the Historic Port to the Fjords

To ensure every cinematic shot was perfect, I traveled to Norway with an amazing team of Spanish wedding photographers: Boquerón a Feira .Undoubtedly, having a crew you trust implicitly makes all the difference when shooting internationally.

In fact, the day before the wedding, we spent hours scouting locations together around Bergen. First, we walked through the historic old town and Bryggen, locking in the perfect frames against the iconic wooden houses. Afterward, we drove deep into the surrounding nature to capture the majestic scale of the Norwegian fjords. Finally, mapping out the light at the venue ahead of time guaranteed that we wouldn’t miss a single emotional second during the fast-paced wedding day.

Videographer’s Note: Bergen is famous for its rainy weather, but the universe smiled on us. Consequently, we were blessed with a crisp, freezing, but beautifully sunny day. Furthermore, the golden Nordic light was absolutely perfect for film. In addition, we must make a special mention to the talented local florist eucalyptus___inalindberg .Undoubtedly, her stunning floral arrangements left everyone speechless and looked absolutely breathtaking on camera.

Why I Fall in Love with Destination Weddings

Documenting Ashley and James’s wedding reminded me exactly why I wanted to become an international wedding videographer. Above all, traveling, learning about different cultural traditions, and connecting with couples across borders is deeply rewarding.

Ultimately, this wedding in Bergen is just the beginning of a new chapter. Therefore, I am incredibly grateful to the newlyweds, their families, and the local vendors who made us feel at home in Norway.
